Hello, I’m Matilde - the heart behind Wag & Wander.
I grew up between France and Italy in a family of animal lovers, surrounded by everything from dogs and cats to horses and chickens. Caring for animals was a big part of my childhood, and that early connection shaped the way I understand and relate to them today.
As someone who loves being outdoors, I’ve always felt happiest when I’m in nature with animals. I believe animals are at their happiest there too - free to explore, engage their senses, and simply be themselves. After moving to the UK, when having animals of my own wasn’t as straightforward, I chose to build something meaningful that brings together my love for animals and the outdoors. i’m naturally calm, patient, and attentive, and I take the time to understand each animal as an individual. Alongside my hands-on experience, I’ve completed qualifications in canine behaviour and training, which help me read body language, respond appropriately, and ensure every animal feels safe and comfortable in my care.
For me, this isn’t just about caring for animals - it’s about building trust, creating a sense of security, and giving each one the attention they deserve.
